Cybersri
Cybersri is a project set up by Department of SC/ST Development, Government of Kerala for providing advanced IT training and industry incubation centre for SC/ST students in Kerala. The centre was set up in CDIT premises and started functioning since 2003. The centre has successfully completed 2 batches of advanced IT training for BTech/MCA/MSc Computer Science candidates among SC/ST categories. The centre also ensures placements for these trained technical persons. In addition to this the centre initiated the following training programs also.

Software Training E-mail

It aims to train BTech/MCA/M.Sc Computer Science candidates among SC/ST in advanced software technologies. The training includes technical as well as soft skill training. The trainees will be given professional exposure so as to equip them to meet the challenging work requirements of the present day IT job market. The centre has successfully completed 3 batches of advanced software training. The trained SC/ST candidates have placed in various organizations.

The training program had started on 28th March 2005 for duration of one year. Ten candidates were selected for the training. The trainees were given Soft Skill development during the first phase followed by Industrial visits to major companies in Technopark.The second module training was on Advanced Multimedia. They have been trained in Flash and conducted workshops. Finally the Software training module covered topics in Java and .Net Technologies with a final project. The training was successfully completed by May 2006. All the trainees are placed in various public and private organizations.

In continuation, the second batch and third batch training were conducted for 20 trainees. The second CyberSri training program had started on 30th July 2007 for duration of one year. The training was inaugurated by Sri. Sukumaran IAS, Director SC Development Department. The first module of this program was Soft skill development held during August 2007. The trainees were given orientation on different subjects by experts. Apart from the above several classes related to visual communication, leadership, software development cycle etc were handled. The second module of Advanced Software programming covered topics in .Net Technologies, java, Linux and PHP with a final project. All the trainees are placed in various public and private organizations.


The third batch Software training program had started on 26th November 2008 for duration of six months. The training was inaugurated by Sri. A.K.Balan, Honourable Minister for welfare of Backward and Scheduled Communities and Electricity, Govt. of Kerala. The first module of this program was Soft skill development held during August 2007. The trainees were given orientation on different subjects by experts.


The second module of Advanced Software programming covered topics in .Net Technologies, Linux and PHP with a final project. Nine trainees are placed in various public and private organizations.

The CyberSri centre is now conducting the fourth batch software training at Thiruvallom C-DIT campus. The trainees have completed the first module of Soft Skill training conducted by M/s Prospects, Cochin. Now training in Advanced Software programming is ongoing.
